We walk through both ways to sell: send us your cards for a condition check, then choose an outright sale for a fast guaranteed payment, or consignment where we list your cards across four weekly eBay cycles and pass on the sale price minus our commission. Cards we don't buy or that don't sell on consignment are posted back to you. Suitable raw cards can also have optional cleaning added as sale prep before listing.

We buy and consign from sellers UK-wide by tracked post, which is how most sellers work with us. If you're in Sussex or Surrey, local collection can also be arranged for larger collections; just mention it when you get in touch.

    Questions

    Good to know

    Which option should I choose?

You keep 70% when you sell to us, or 80% on consignment. Choose Sell to us for a faster payment after inspection and acceptance. Choose consignment for a bit more, if you're happy to wait about a month. Not sure? Ask an expert and we'll help you decide.

How do I send my cards?

Sleeve and protect each card, then pack the parcel securely. Tracked UK post is recommended but optional. We'll show the parcel address and full packing checklist after you submit.

    Who pays the postage?

You post your cards to us either way. If you sell to us and decline our offer, we return them free, so it's really just one-way postage. For consignment you cover postage both ways, as anything that doesn't sell is posted back to you.

    Are there any fees?

When you sell to us we take 30%, so you keep 70%. On consignment we take 20%, so you keep 80%, plus a small handling charge of 15p per card, and you cover postage both ways.

What if I reject your offer?

No problem, and no obligation. If our offer isn't right for you, we send your cards back at no cost, or you can switch to consignment instead.

    How long does payment take?

For an outright sale, we pay promptly once you accept our offer. For consignment, you're paid at the end of the month, once the run finishes and any unsold cards are returned.

What happens if my cards don't sell?

Consignment runs for about a month. Any cards that don't sell in that time are posted back to you. You only pay commission on cards that actually sell.

    Can I send sealed products?

Yes. We buy and consign sealed product alongside singles, in virtually any language.

    Can I send graded cards?

Yes. We take graded slabs as well as raw cards, from played vintage holos to gem mint. If you're unsure how to describe condition, see our Pokemon Card Condition Guide.

    Which cards do you take?

We focus on vintage holos and reverse holos, EX cards (including modern EX) and full arts, plus graded cards and sealed product. We don't take bulk or job lots, or modern standard holos and reverse holos.

Where to sell Pokémon cards in the UK

The best place to sell Pokémon cards depends on whether you want the highest possible price, a quick sale or the least amount of work. eBay, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace give you control of individual listings. A local card shop may be convenient, while a specialist Pokémon card buyer can assess a collection and offer either a direct sale or consignment.

Card & Ink buys and consigns suitable Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and Lorcana cards, including graded cards and sealed products, from sellers across the UK. You do not need to catalogue a large collection or photograph every card before asking us to take a look.

Where else can you sell Pokémon cards in the UK?

We are not your only option, and it would be strange to pretend otherwise. Here is an honest comparison of the realistic routes, so you can pick the one that suits what you are actually holding. The percentages are indicative ranges rather than promises — every route varies with what you have, and "market value" is itself a moving target.

Route Roughly what you keep How long it takes What it really costs you
Selling privately on a marketplace or auction site Highest headline price, but platform and payment fees commonly take 10–15% before postage Days to months, per card Your time listing and photographing, packing, postage, plus the risk of disputes, non-delivery claims and chargebacks
Auction house Commonly 70–90% after commission Weeks to months, tied to catalogue cycles Seller's commission and sometimes lotting fees. Really only worth it for genuinely high-value single cards
Postal specialist card buyer Commonly 60–80% of market Days once your cards arrive Usually nothing up front, though you may cover return postage if you turn the offer down
Walking into a local shop Commonly 40–60% Same day Travel, and typically the lowest offer of any route — the shop is carrying all the stock risk and paying you on the spot
Card & Ink — outright sale You keep 70% Paid promptly once you accept our offer Postage one way, to us. No per-card fee
Card & Ink — consignment You keep 80% About a month 15p per card, and postage both ways since anything unsold comes back to you

    How to choose

    • A handful of high-value cards, and you enjoy the process? Selling privately will usually net the most, provided you price them properly and are willing to absorb the admin and the risk.
    • A big mixed box you want gone? Private selling falls apart at volume — the per-card effort is the same whether a card is worth £1 or £100. Outright is built for this.
    • Cards worth real money, and you can wait a month? Consignment pays more than outright, because we only take our share once the card actually sells.
    • Need the money this week? Outright, every time. Speed is exactly what you are trading the extra 10% for.

Two things we do not do, said plainly. We do not value collections from photographs, and we do not offer valuations as a standalone service — so nobody here can give you a figure before your cards are physically in front of us. The process is always the same: you send the cards in, we condition-check every one by hand, then we make you an offer that you are completely free to decline.
